Right off the bat, I have to admit this BBS has some really impressive graphics on the menu screens. Upon signing up users are given two weeks of unlimited access, which should certainly give you enough time to decide if this board is right for you. After that expires you will be switched to Free class and allowed six hours a day. An Elite account is relatively affordable, at $5.00 a month or $10 for 3 months, offering you unlimited playing time. PvP is set to a 10 level restriction, and there are no dupes allowed. Upon entering the realm you'll quickly notice there are a lot of players in it. A quick check of the top 100 in the realm can be a bit intimidating, it takes over 171 million total experience to make the list, with the number one character having 7.9 billion total experience.

With that many large players you can bet the availability of limited items is more who you know or who you can kill, not what monster you can kill. I was given the advice to get into a good gang if I wanted a chance at limited items, and told that people do pass equipment down when they get their hands on something better. I would say that's the best that could be expected in a realm with as many players as this one.

My first visit to the BBS there were several people at the keyboard and all of them seemed friendly, and easy to talk to. I wasn't the only one hanging out in Newhaven, so there is a broad range of experience levels in the game. I was only on about twenty minutes when I was offered assistance. Over gossips several people gathered together to go after some big bosses, which I believe to be a rare thing in a scripting realm.

Lag is present, not so bad you can't put up with it though. All in all I would say I enjoyed my experience at Holodeck, and would recommend giving it a try. I give it an 8 out of 10.
